Angela has served as Coordinator for the Newton Campus Learning & Tutoring Center (LTC) since November 2003. At that time it was an infant LTC and the campus was not yet a true campus. Over the years the Rockdale Center evolved into the Newton Campus and the LTC has grown considerably. What started as one room and 6 tutors is now two distinct rooms – Math/Science Lab and Writing/Reading Lab – connected by a reception area and staffing includes approximately 20 tutors each semester plus a Lab Supervisor for each Lab. Services have been expanded to include a very modest Supplemental Instruction program.
With an undergraduate degree in English and History and a Creative Writing minor (Troy State University, 1991) and a Master’s degree in Economic Development (U. of Southern Mississippi, 1993), Angela brings an eclectic background to her position.
Angela is Past President of the Georgia Tutoring Association and began her connections with the Association for the Tutoring Profession in the spring of 2004. She was very excited about assuming the helm of the ATP’s Chapters Committee and sees Chapters as a growth impetus for the ATP! J
