ATP research Awards

The Association for the Tutoring Profession Executive Board has approved the creation of two research awards with a value of $500 each. Proposals will be reviewed by the Awards CommitteeWinners will be required to present their findings at next year's conference and publish those findings in Synergy, the ATP Online Journal. Research proposals must address some aspect of tutoring. Winners must attend the 5th Conference of the ATP  in Albuquerque, New Mexico April 5-8, 2009. to receive the award. 

Peer Tutor of the Year and Tutoring Program Award of Excellence

The ATP invites you to nominate a candidate for "Tutor of the Year," and additionally we are seeking nominations for the for "Tutoring Program Award of Excellence" for recognition at the Fourth annual conference, "Tutoring: Gateway to the Future."

The purpose of the Peer Tutor of the Year Award is to recognize an individual who exemplifies excellence in his/her tutoring abilities. The recipient of this award as well as the college/university will receive an engraved plaque.

The purpose of the Tutoring Program Award of Excellence is to recognize the tutorial program that exemplifies excellence in training, scope of purpose and range of tutorial support to students within the academic setting. The recipient of the award will receive an engraved plaque.

Recipients of these awards must be members of the ATP. Please check the ATP homepage for guidelines and details.

Deadline for submission of nominations is February 5, 2009.
