Beth Nikopoulos currently serves as Assistant Director of Student Life at North Lake College, part of the Dallas County Community College District and is the new advisor for the North Lake College Student Government Association. Beth was Director of Tutorial Services at Brookhaven College in Dallas, Texas from 1998-2009. While at Brookhaven, Beth managed a program which offered one-on-one and drop-in tutoring, Supplemental Instruction, and Structured Learning Assistance to approximately 2,500 students each semester. In addition, Beth conducted tutor training through the College Reading and Learning Association’s (CRLA) at Levels I, II, and Master Level. Beth joined the National Tutoring Association (NTA) in 1998, and served as Constitution and By-laws Chair until 2003. Beth has also served as President of the Texas Tutors’ Association (TXTA), and has worked with CRLA as an evaluator for the International Tutor Program Certification since 1999. Beth is a founding member of the Association for the Tutoring Profession (ATP) and has served both as vice president and president. She has been co-chair of the Certification Committee since 2008. She also serves on the ATP Board of Trustees as secretary for the International Foundation for the Tutoring Profession (IFTP). Beth holds a B.A. in English from the University of Texas at Arlington, and a master’s degree in Human Services from National University in San Diego, California. She is currently working on her doctorate in Educational Psychology from Texas A&M University – Commerce. “I look forward to creating a network of tutors and tutoring professionals across the country.
