ATP invites you to attend and present in Kansas City, Missouri at the Kansas City Marriott Country Club Plaza. Please take a moment to send in a proposal and share your ideas with your colleagues.

This year’s theme is Tutoring: Crossroads & Connections. Share your best research and practice ideas with your colleagues by being a presenter at our 2017 Conference.

Come and showcase the innovative ways you are using technology and social media; the creative learning strategies and training techniques you use in your centers; the effective ways you are managing your program, collecting data, and reporting on your successes; or anything else that makes your academic support programs distinctive. Students and professionals alike are encouraged to complete and submit proposals.

PROPOSAL DEADLINES AND ACCEPTANCE NOTIFICATION DATES:

  • Call for Proposals: Now until – November 15, 2016
  • Presenters Notified By: December 2, 2016
  • Presenter Acceptance & Registration Deadline - January 15, 2017
The types of sessions we are looking for are: workshop, panel or roundtable, and demonstration. There are single sessions of 50 and double sessions of 110-minute time slots available. Pre or Post Conference Institutes are 3 hours long.

  • Paper/Presentation - offer practical solutions or innovative ideas for the audience. Presentations involving power points, handouts, and Q&A are usually expected.
  • Workshops – Hands-on ideas and strategies for attendees to participate in.
  • Research – share your research ideas, data analysis, methodologies
  • Panel or Roundtable – focus on a particular issue and usually involve multiple participants or a small group presentation. Audience participation is expected.
  • Demonstration – offers the audience a real-life look at a tool, product, or innovative idea that has a hands-on approach.
  • The 3-hour Pre-Cons are to be presented Sunday, March 26, 2017 at 9:00am or 1:00pm.
  • The 3-hour Post-Cons are to be presented on Wednesday, March 29, 2017 at 9:30am.
In your proposal form, please submit presenter information, the type of session (pre-con, concurrent, post-con), a 250 word abstract on your presentation, and a 50 word biography. The abstract should address the following: Describe the objectives and content of the presentation in a 250-word (maximum) abstract. Include the purpose of the presentation, significance to the field of tutoring, plans to engage the audience, and a summary of your session content.
